“Don’ t you hate it when…” OR  “How can someone be that @#$%^&* stupid?”

Here at One Girl, No Cup™ the answers are “YES” and well, “EASY”.

It’s how many forms of ranting begin, whether you’re talking about an awful experience you’ve had, someone you don’t really like, or just something so incredibly ignorant you can’t even put it into words without making it feel like you’re on the edge of a nervous breakdown yourself.

One Girl, No Cup™ fosters that ‘bad day’ mentality, because without it, there would be a lot less bitching and a lot less interesting blog content.   If someone has pissed in your Cheerios, we want to hear about it — Just call it creative therapy, if you will.  Chances are, you’ll find a lot more people than you might think who share your opinion too.

So what is One Girl, No Cup™?

Simply put, it’s a community where sharing your opinions in their rawest, and sometimes, nastiest form is accepted and even encouraged.  Our blog authors rant on a variety of subjects from everyday life to politics.  The motto here: Anything goes.

The idea behind the website came in 2003 with the purchase of the domain dirtylittlesecrets.net.  The intention was to build a multi-blogging platform where users could ‘air out their dirty laundry’.  While it was great in theory, the website never progressed past the beta testing due to it taking up a lot of time and effort to maintain.  Over the years, after much discussion with other developers, the idea came back around, and this time, with much more enthusiastic support.   Finally it evolved into a multi-blogging site where people could rant online while being secure from the strict terms of service policies that a lot of other blogging sites imposed.

The final result is simple, one main site where all of the individual user’s blogs come together in one harmonious BITCHFEST!

One Girl, No Cup™ – the domain/site name.

What started out as a funny joke, became sitting down and actually buying (yet another) domain name.  “Spewing shit on the internet…a.k.a.  ‘talking shit’” was the theme which became merged with the potential for a multi-user blogging site dedicated to ranting.

(For those of you who aren’t following the joke, try Googling a bit AT YOUR OWN RISK — And no, that’s not a joke.)

As much as I’d like to take credit for it, the idea for the domain wasn’t completely original, either.  It was featured on a segment of the Comedy Central show, Tosh.0:

However, it did pave the way for the weekly article series on ‘things that stink’, called What Smells?™.   And hey, that’s just catchy.
